Business Strategy and Product ScopePatriot Paint exists as the industry’s lowest cost producer of coating systems for metal substrates. Through its adoption and implementation of proprietary lean manufacturing techniques combined with a highly disciplined Activity- Based-Costing program, Patriot has achieved a uniquely competitive operational platform. From this platform, Patriot is able to reinvest in both a focused research and development program and an aggressive acquisition strategy that ensures leading-edge product positions are maintained. The result of maintaining this balance between cost leadership and technical competence for over 30 years is a conservatively-financed coating manufacturer with exceptional annual market share gains. |

Market Positioning and Product ConformancePatriot Paint is registered to the TS-16949 quality management standard. This registration serves to ensure current and prospective customers that Patriot maintains capable systems continually driving the improvement of internal processes and product quality. Patriot Paint production includes a large volume of waterborne and high-solids technology. This attribute not only minimizes Patriot’s operational impact upon the environment, but also differentiates its product set from a competitive base that is substantially more rooted in solvent borne formulation. From zero—VOC, anticorrosive transportation coatings to multilayer decorative systems for metal caskets, Patriot Paint offers specialized, environmentally-sensitive, lowest-cost solutions for most metal substrate applications. |
A Family HistoryPatriot Paint was founded in 1980 by Mr. Burnie Humphrey as a manufacturer of industrial anti-corrosive coatings. The company was acquired by Polymer, a group of paint and chemical manufacturers, in 2007. This acquisition transitioned the business from one family to another. The Piceu family has built the Polymer group of companies since its establishment of United Paint in 1953 and has successfully transitioned to its third generation of family leadership and corporate independence. |
